Castoro is Italian for “beaver”, hence the play on words for their motto “Dam Fine Wine”. Fruit forward whites, buttery Chardonnays, bold peppery reds.
This is the highest winery in the area and the views speak for themselves. The foods have a medeteranian slant. This winery is pricy with a tasting costing $45. But the grounds and views are fantastic. A perfect place to have lunch and a few glasses while enjoying the view.

The family has a history of wine and spirits dating back to Chicago in the 1880s. They began sourcing grapes from Paso Robles in 1992 and now have a winery of their own here. Enjoy your wine while looking over old historic family photos in the tasting room. Compare young and older zins.google

The same parent company of Fiji Water owns Justin. The winery is one of the more well-known and established wineries in the area with world-class wines. Bordeaux grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. They have the Just Inn for accommodations and a restaurant.
Reservations are required. Probably the most well-known name in Paso Robles wines. In the late 1960s, Jerry Lohr began an extensive investigation of California grape growing regions which led him to the Central Coast to Monterey in 1972 and Paso Robles in the 1980s, an area just beginning to explore its potential for wine growing, making him one of the early modern wine pioneers in the region.google

A popular winery, expect it to be busy. Reservations are recommended. Walk-in availability is limited. The last tasting starts at 4:00 outside and 4:30 at the bar with the duration not to exceed an hour. They have a wood-fired oven where they bake pizzas and have sausage and cheese plates.
For lunch – lunch is outside, they will only reserve a table for Wine Club Members, otherwise lunch is first come first serve basis, so reserve an outside table for a tasting and then you can eat lunch at the same time, lunch is ordered at the outside counter.
Zin fans should be on the lookout for the Mountain Zinfandel and Reserve Zinfandel.

We offer two types of tasting experiences. First, is seated outside where you are served by a knowledgeable host. Appointments for this are highly recommended and walk-ins are welcome, if there is space available. We are pouring outside and are following all CDC covid safety protocols, 7 days a week from 11am-5pm (last tasting is at 4pm). Second, is the Thacher Stables Tasting which is offered most Friday-Sundays at 11am and 2pm. These two hour elevated tastings allow for one-on-one attention with a dedicated wine educator who will guide you through a selection of exclusive wines: from rare oddities and library offerings to new releases and blend deconstructions, to reserve wines and more. The Stables Tasting takes place in chic and newly renovated, old horse stables and are limited to a maximum of 16 fully COVID-19 vaccinated adults, ages 21 +.
This is the latest open winery in the area, when all the rest close at 5pm, Tooth & Nail stays open to 8pm on Fridays and typically has live music on the large terrace. Other nights they are open til 6pm. They have special tastings available such as a roof top/twilight/sunset tasting. The place is modeled after a castle complete with a moat, the frogs at night in the moat are quite entertaining
Turley makes a lot of wines, almost 50 so far. Known for their old vine Zins and their Petite Sirah amongst others. They have estate wines but also source a lot of grapes from around California.
